Third grade employees association on Saturday opposed the State Government move to appoint Assistant Block Education Officers (ABEO) through direct recruitment.
The association regional general secretary Chandrasekhar Tiwari said the move if implemented would be an injustice to the teachers who have been working on that post since quite a long time. “The Government has been so far selecting departmental candidates for appointment to the posts. If the Government does not refrain from its move, the grade third employees will not hesitate to take to the street,” he said.
If required we will file a petition in the high court, he added. Tiwari said the Government has already created dozens of ABEO posts and started process to fill those posts through direct recruitments. However, he cautioned that appointment to such posts cannot be filled up by the authorities through direct recruitment without the approval of the Central Government. Some senior vested interest officials were conspiring to violate the existing provision, he alleged.
