Chief Secretary Vivek Dhand on Friday directed district collectors to speed up the efforts for extending benefits of various scheme run by State Government for people living under below poverty line (BPl).
In a letter released from Mantralaya, he instructed the district collectors to send a report to the general administration department every three months detailing about the progress in this direction.
Officials informed that the Chief Secretary has directed Collectors to conduct special camps at Gram Panchayat and Block level for ensuring delivery of Government services to the needy and poor.
He asked the collectors to organize beneficiary camps during weekly ‘haat bazaar’ which should be at least headed by a SDM level officer. The Chief Secretary suggested forming a cluster of four or five Gram Panchayats to be covered in one such camp.
“The MlA, MP, Zila Panchayat/Janpad President and Sarpanch of the concern Panchayat should be informed beforehand about the camps,” the Chief Secretary said in the letter.
Considering the literacy factor, the Chief Secretary has instructed that even if the beneficiary is illiterate and cannot submit a written application there should be some arrangement in the camp in this regard. No one should be turned away from the camp due to non-availability of written application, he said.
Effective arrangement should be made for on the spot Redressal of the application received, Chief Secretary maintained.
He has also asked the Collectors to prepare a schedule of such camps to be held from October to December and communicate his office in this regard.
