Ahead of the Assembly elections scheduled for this year-end, Director General of Police (DGP) Ramniwas reviewed the law and order situation of State on Friday.

He directed the officials to quickly dispose the pending warrants and ensure hundred

per cent disposal of summons-warrants. He also declared that if any police personnel help in seizure of AK-47, SlR, Insas or lMG, he or she would be given out-of-turn promotion.

Sources in police headquarters informed that the DGP directed the officials to update gunda-register (criminal police record) and also to ensure regular checking of licensed fire arms-holders in their respective areas. Considering the pending

cases in FSl (Forensic Science laboratory) he issued necessary directions and asked the

officers to follow check-list while sending any case to State FSl. For controlling illegal trade in Chhattisgarh DGP asked the officers in meeting to begin special drive against illegal trade of any kind.

He asked the Superintendents of every district to launch anti-illegal trade campaign against illegal liquor, scarp,

furnace oil and dishonest traders. In very strong words the DGP told SPs that if it is found that illegal-trade is flourishing in their area then the police officer of concerned area would have to face stern departmental action.

The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police (CID) Himanshu Gupta, Deputy Inspector General of Police (AJAK) Ravindra Bhediya, DIG (CID) Purushottam Gautam, HR Manhar lIG(CID), Joint Director (SFSl) Dr RK Gupta along with others.
