'Dev work in Bastar a challenging task'

PWD Minister Rajesh M unat on Friday said that taking up development work in insurgency-infested Bastar region is a challenging task.The laying of roads and construction of bridges and culverts is quite difficult in Bastar region, Munat said. Public Works, Housing, Transport and Environment Minister Rajesh Munat while inaugurating the workshop addressed the two-day National Workshop of the State Public Works Department which began at the New Circuit House here .

The experts and Departmental officers are having a detailed discussion on various projects, dam construction and rehabilitation measures in the Workshop.       

About 180 Engineers and experts in many fields from various states including Chhattisgarh are participating in the workshop. 

The workshop is being organised by the Public Works Department with the co-operation of National Group of The Indian Association of Bridge and Stretcher Engineers (I.A.B.S.E.).PWD Minister Rajesh Munat said that there is rapid development taking place in Chhattisgarh . The dream of a developed State is becoming a reality.Munat said that the 'Bhoomi pujan' of the Raipur-Bilaspur road widening project will be performed in November this year.
