Despite Covid-induced disruptions, the automobile sector in Chhattisgarh saw a boom during Dhanteras and Diwali this year, with a 17.17 percent growth in sales compared to previous year.
An official communique said that due to farmer and labour friendly policies of the state government, the sale of tractors, harvesters and commercial tractors saw a considerable jump.
The sale of motorcycles and other goods carrying vehicles also increased this year.
According to the Transport Department, a total of 13,706 vehicles were sold between November 2 to 6. Between November 12 and 16 last year, 11,697 vehicles were sold.
Though there was a lockdown in the state due to Covid, the economic activities were continued, the statement said.
