Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday said that with over 600 Covid-19 cases in Chhattisgarh, the present situation is not alarming but threats remain "and we are well prepared to control the menace” of the pandemic.
He was addressing a programme here at the Chief Minsiter’s official residence to dedicate the Covid-19 response website for the state.
He said: “Grassroot level staff battling the Covid-19 are instrumental in getting rid of it. Migrants numbering over 2.5 lakhs have returned to the state after they were struck in Covid induced lockdown and they are the main cause for the spread of the disease.
“The Sarpanch, Sachivs, Kotwars and other employees of panchayat bodies, however, are the main warriors which are at the frontline to contain the contagious disease,” he said.
