Four days after the mutilated body of an international football player from Africa was found on a railway track on Mumbai-Howrah rout at Baradwar in Janjgir-Champa district, authorities have not been able to trace the train on which the footballer was travelling.

“No one has come forward to claim the body of the man. However, we are in touch with the family members of the victim and most likely by Tuesday they will reach here,” Superintendent of Police Janjgir-Champa Parul Mathur said.

On whether they got any updates from Railway in connection with the incident, she said that the police had contacted Railway officers in Howrah about any missing bags in trains on Mumbai-Howrah route, however so far, they have received no inputs in this regard.

Meanwhile, multiple attempts over cell phone and text messages to contact railway public relation officer in Bilaspur went in vain and no update was provided by them.

Notably, body of an unidentified man was found on busy Howrah-Mumbai route in Baradwar police station limits on Friday evening. He was later identified as Diomandé Aboubacar an Ivory Coast national. With the body only a mobile phone was found.

Police sources informed that based on investigation so far it was learnt that Aboubacar had landed in Mumbai on August 8 and was on his way to join his teammates in Kolkata.
