He tried continuously to end his life, some time by consuming poison and at some other occasion by opting for gallows, but the death obliged him only on seventh attempt finally taking him in her lap for the deep sleep.

Mansuram Markam (40), son of Mataram Markam, a resident of Banskot police chowki area, committed suicide by consuming poison leaving behind his spouse and 8 innocent children. Being a labourer by profession and habitual drunkard, Mansuram attempted suicide six times earlier as well – on four occasions he had tried to hang self while twice earlier he had also tasted the poison, some times after quarrel with spouse on domestic issues and at others in highly inebriated State, but benevolent villagers always came to  his rescue.

However, this time Masuram’s luck ran short and by the time villagers came to know that he had consumed poison, the poor labourer had already left for his heavenly abode. Village Mukhiya and former Sarpanch Dudiram Markam said ‘’Four times earlier he had attempted suicide by hanging self but neighbours saved him on all four occasions. He had also consumed poison twice in his bid to end life but villagers rushed him to hospital and saved his live with great difficulty. But this time he consumed poison but nobody got the inkling of his extreme step until he was dead,’’ the former Sarpanch said.
