The submision of pledge letter and production of witnesses can now be made before the special Judicial Probe Commission investigating the May 25 Jeeram Ghati massacre by Maoists before July 19 this year.
The deadline for submission of pledge letter and the production of witnesses was extended by Commission Chairman Justice Prashant Mishra on pleas made by the general public, an official statement issued here stated.
The next date of hearing on the massacre had also been fixed on July 19.The Commission Chairman reached the office of the Bastar Division Commissioner on Saturday at 11 am for holding the first hearing on the case in Jagdalpur. Secretary of the Commission Shivmangal Pandey informed that a total of 12 persons had presented their application for deposing before the Commission so far.
