The Dantewada District Administration wants a reputed firm to manage the Science Centre for kids at the insurgency infested district.
The administration had invited Expression of Interest invited from reputed firms on October 3 this year for the purpose of operating a Science Centre which strives to instill the interest for science among the students from different levels.
Notably, Dantewada is among the districts in Chhattisgarh which are very remote and affected severely by LWE activities. And in these adverse conditions, it is a prime goal and also a herculean task for district administration to provide a education of good standards to the children of the area.
To further achieve this larger objective, administration took several initiatives in the past and in this continuation and also in consonance with the fundamental duties written in the constitution of India under article 51A, which is to develop the scientific temper and instill interest for science among the students of the district, administration had established Centre for Science Education.
The Dantewada district administration in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh will also be deploying a unique and comprehensive Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based Mobile and Web application solution for the purpose of data collection, extension , monitoring and management of school learning outcomes of children in the district.
The district administration is making efforts to improve standards of education in the district and has been working on various models and tools to do the same.
In the process, the administration has taken a decision to have an application which can capture the skills of the students in various areas and measure the learning outcomes of the students from their schooling.
Dantewada is among the notified aspirational districts of the Central Government. Lower literacy rate and poor quality of education have been among the main concerns of the district, attempts of addressing which are being constantly made by the district administration.
The software application would have an integrated mobile and web application and would be user friendly and simple to use so that it can be adopted by the different members of the organization with ease.
The software would use advanced ICT tools which would help to bring all key interventions under one umbrella for better monitoring, evaluation, traceability, transparency, accountability and 360 degree analysis.
The employed solution would consist of various aspects such as Android tablet based data collection system, a back end system to store, process the data and generate reports, a web based interactive front end system with dashboard facility to view, analyze data and achieve customization in the data collection and ability to capture and store photographs.
