Curiosity is mother of invetion: Expert

The key feature of science is curiosity, which alone can lead to innovations.

This was stated here on Wednesday by Prof M.M. Humberde, a former Director General of the Chhattisgarh Science and Technology Council.

Today, just securing getting information will not work. There is a need to try more and more experiments, even if it leads to failures, he said.

Prof Humberde was addressing the inaugural  session of a 10-day robotics worship at the Chhattisgarh Regional Science Centre with the theme ‘Hands on Activity’.

Fifty students of science faculty in government schools of Raipur are being imparted the training. They will learn about the nuances of robotics and artificial intelligence.

Prof Humberde said that without curiosity, innovations cannot be brought. New technologies are coming based on the innovations in the existing ones.

Dr S. Karmakar, Director General, Chhattisgarh Regional Science Centre, said science is not just a discovery of nature but a mechanism to accept the supreme authority of truth.

Dr. Shirish Singh, Project Director at the same Centre, nanotechnology was also leading to new inventions.

The Centre has been established with the objective of making new discoveries and practical activities, encouraging the process of learning, showcasing latest scientific and technological innovations, and creating awareness about science.
