Curfew was clamped in Dhamtari town after clashes broke out between members of two communities on Wednesday.“Curfew has been clamped after law and order situation got disturbed in Dhamtari following some dispute between members of two communities. One person was injured in the dispute after which tension grew and we had to clamp curfew,” Collector Bheem Singh told The Pioneer.
Meanwhile, additional police force was rushed to Dhamtari for handling the situation in the district headquarters. Inspector General of Police (IGP) (Raipur) GP Singh who had also reached Dhamtari informed that though Section 144 was imposed in the city, the situation was under control.“Some affair between members of the two communities was being said as the outcome of tension,” the IGP mentioned.
