lakshminarayan Banchor (49), JE posted in Patan, Durg district was arrested along with Janardan Upadhyay resident of Power House while taking bribe of Rs 1 lakh from Avinash Dewangan for
providing him power connection for his (Avinash’s) fly ash brick factory at Teligundra village of Patan block in Durg, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) ACB Manoj Khiladi said.
Avinash had contacted ACB after the CSPDCl JE had demanded Rs 1 lakh for providing power connection for his factory.
Accordingly, ACB sleuths had made the plan and sent him to meet JE on Friday, he said.
Banchor had earlier called Avinash to his office, however, later he changed the meeting spot and called Avinash to his factory site in Teligundra village where Janardan Upadhyay had also reached, the ASP said.
While Avinash handed over the money to Banchor, the JE told Avinash to give it to Janardan Upadhyay.
At that time, the ACB team nabbed them doing the money transfer, he said adding investigations were going on.
