Seven troopers of CRPF suffering from Malaria were admitted to Ramkrishna Hospital in Raipur after primary treatment in Jagdalpur Medical College Hospital, officials said on Wednesday.
Platoon Commander Amrek Singh (55), Assistant Platoon Commander Rajkumar Sahu (44), Constable lakheshwar Sahu (28), Ajay Paikra (27), Ramdhar Baghel (28), Vinod (27) and Pankaj Sharma (26) were airlifted to Jagdalpur from their jungle areas postings in Naxal insurgency areas. After the medical tests and primary treatment to the seven troopers, they were rushed to Ramkrishna Hospital, Jagdalpur Medical College Assistant Professor Dr Naveen Dulhani informed.
CRPF trooper Farookh Khan said that they are posted in restive Dharmapenta village, where they were found to be suffering from malaria, he added. Although, the troopers are administered anti-malaria medication every week but no medical facilities in Maoist-ravaged areas leads to deterioration in medical condition of ill troopers. Many troopers in Dharmapenta camp complain of arm and leg pain. Reportedly, seven troopers of security forces succumbed to malaria in November also.
