Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Charan Das Mahant and Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey on Thursday flagged off the ‘Insurance Vehicle’ to create awareness among farmers about crop insurance schemes.
The event was held at the residence here of Choubey.
The vehicle will tour various districts till December 15. Farmers will be made aware about the ‘Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana’ and the weather-based Crop Insurance Scheme, an official communication said.
The Rabi season for 2022 is set to commence. The target is to cover maximum farmers under the crop insurance scheme. Also, the fourth crop insurance week is being celebrated from December 1 to 7.
The last date for availing benefits from both the insurance schemes is December 15.
