Former Congress party MlA Mohammed Akbar on Tuesday alleged that senior officials of Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CPEB) and Government officials are directly involved in the Pre-Medical Test (PMT) paper leak scam in the State.
The PMT paper leak scam could not come in the forefront due to the influence exerted by ruling Government in the State which led to the truth not coming out in the open, he said while addressing a news conference here.
Akbar said that the PMT was held in two shifts on June 19, 2011. Before the Test could start, the Police at Takhatpur in Bilaspur district after getting a tip-off conducted a raid and seized the leaked question papers, he said.
The seized papers were tallied with PMT’s original papers at J N Pandey Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School in Raipur. On tallying the Chemistry subject papers, the 50 questions were found exactly the same as on original paper and on receiving information that the paper had leaked , the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board cancelled the examination for the paper, Akbar said.
The matter of FIR being filed in the case was confirmed but Controller of the then Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board B P Tripathi while not lodging a direct FIR in the concerned police station, reported to the Inspector General of Police , Crime Research Bureau, Police Headquarters , Raipur on June 20, 2011 writing in a letter that the FIR had been lodged, Akbar said.
