Cows to get proper funeral in my regime: Ajit Jogi

The cow which is revered as ‘mother’ in Hindu culture will be given a proper funeral after its death, if my government comes to power, promised former Chief Minister and Chhattisgarh Janta Congress (Jogi) Chief Ajit Jogi here on Wednesday.

“I suggest the ruling government in the State to follow this idea and if not then, if my government will come to power, I will get it implemented,” Jogi told reporters while addressing a press conference here at his residence.

Jogi explained that it has been noted that when a cow dies then its skin is taken off and the body is left to decay for days at length. later on, its bones are taken out and sold by people from ‘Dalit’ community.

“For maintaining the dignity of the cow, we have thought that proper funeral of cow would be performed upon death and as compensation Rs 300 or Rs 400 would be given to those people who use the skin and bones of the cow,” Jogi said.

On the backdrop of deaths of several cows in a ‘Gaushala’ at Kanker, he charged that people affiliated with BJP were misusing the Gaushala.

Interestingly, Jogi lauded and supported AAP leader Soni Sodhi for hoisting tri-colour at remote and Naxal stronghold Gompad village in Bastar region.

He alleged that the government with the idea of revenge was getting attacks executed on Soni Sodhi.

“Soni Sodhi has achieved what government had failed to do in past several years,” Jogi said while adding that he condemned the attacks on Soni Sodhi.
