Amid a spike in Covid cases, the administration in Rajnandgaon on Tuesday imposed Section 144 in the district.
Collector Taran Prakash Sinha issued instructions for officials to act on a war footing to deal with the third wave of Covid-19 in the district.
Under Section 144, all gatherings in the form of rallies, social, cultural and religious gatherings, major sports events and above assembling at one place are ruled out.
Hotels, cinema halls and theaters can function with 33 per cent (one third) of its seating capacity. The permission of the Collector is needed before holding social events.
He also called for screening people coming from Maharashtra to Rajnandgaon and Dongargarh railway stations.
