Chhattisgarh Police on Thursday arrested a couple for killing a five-year-old minor boy over a property dispute in Surajpur district.
Surajpur Superintendent of Police Bhavana Gupta identified the couple as Ghur Singh (28) and his wife Santoshi (19), both residents of Annapurna village.
On Tuesday, the family of the boy, Dilram, lodged a missing case with the Prem Nagar police.
The police knew the couple had a property row with the minor's father. On Tuesday, the couple sent the boy to buy some groceries and sweets when he was playing with other children.
They strangled him to death when he returned to the couple's home. At night, they shifted the body to his father's agricultural land.
