Chhattisgarh Police on Tuesday arrested a couple for cheating a man of Rs 21.40 lakhs on the pretext of selling their residential house here.
Raipur Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Agrawal identified them as K. Lallan Kumar (44) and his wife K. Sujata of Birgaon area in the city.
They cheated Chhabiram Verma of Bhanpuri locality. They were nabbed from Fafadih Chowk near the railway station after a cheating case was filed against them last month.
The two told the police that they took money from Verma between 2017 and 2021by promising him to sell their house in Birgaon area.
