Chhattisgarh Police arrested a couple from Korba and brought them here for duping a woman of Rs 3 lakhs on the pretext of doubling her money through investment in a water plant Bilaspur city.
Subhash Tati and his wife Meena have been taken into custody, Bilaspur Additional Superintendent of Police Rajendra Kumar Jaiswal said on Tuesday.
They cheated an acquaintance, Ahana Francis, in April this year. They were nabbed from Korba following a tip on Monday.
The couple confessed to cheating scores of people worth Rs 2.5 crores by promising them to double their money. A court sent them to prison.
