A young couple reportedly committed suicide in Amanaka area of the city. Their body was found hanging from the ceiling in a house in Amanaka locality, Superintendent of Police OP Pal informed on Wednesday.
Detailing about the incident, Station House Officer (SHO) Amanaka Vaijantimala Tigga informed that the deceased were identified as Hitesh Janghel and Ravina.
Janghel is a driver and was having an affair with Ravina for the past few months. Since Ravina was a minor, they could not get married. However they were living together for the past two months, the SHO informed.
According to the neighbours, the couple had frequent quarrels. Their body was found hanging in their house during noon hours. No suicide note was found and hence police could not ascertain the reason for them taking such extreme step, SHO added. A case in this connection has been registered and investigations have begun, the SHO maintained.
