Admitting that the opposition parties failed to form a third front ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha elections  because of differences of opinions on certain issues, former Union minister Sharad Yadav underlined the need for the opposition unity to fight against the communal forces.

Yadav was talking to media persons during his one-day tour to the state capital on Friday. He was here to participate in the birth anniversary function of first chief minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh Late Pt Ravishankar Shukla.

Yadav further commenting on the results of the Lok Sabha polls, said the country had now gone into darkness. Today  religion and politics have been interlinked and constitution is being overlooked, he said.

Commenting on mob-lynching, Yadav further termed it more dangerous than the riots. In the name of cow protection, group of 20-25 people are assaulting unarmed person, he added. Citing that Rajasthan state had passed a law against mob lynching, Yadav said this must be followed nationwide.
