The corporators of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) in a special general body meeting convened on Monday approved the proposal of making all the 70 wards open defecation-free’ (ODF).
Some heated exchange of words were witnessed in the meeting as the BJP corporators under leadership of their leader of Opposition Suryakant Rathore objected while saying that the meeting was called suddenly.
The special general body meeting is called under Section 30 for the issue which is of immediate importance. The ODF was not such issue, they said.
“When all the 70 corporators in RMC had given their consent before the Mayor for making all wards ODF, then there was no reason to call a special meeting”, the BJP corporators said.
