The security forces arriving Chhattisgarh from other States for conducting elections, have been permitted to use the school buildings for lodging and boarding purpose in remote areas. A letter in this connection was released from state election commission, officials said here on Sunday.

According to official information that forces coming from other states for maintaining law and order situation in the poll bound state will be placed in remote and rural areas. For the first phase of election scheduled on November 11 in Bastar and Rajnandgaon region large number of security personnel would be deployed in these areas. Because of acute scarcity of lodging facility in areas hit by Maoist insurgency, the election commission has decided that the forces engaged in election duty could use government school buildings for staying purpose.

Meanwhile Director General of Police Ramniwas informed that all the security forces have been directed that while staying in school buildings every kind of precautionary steps should be taken. All the basic amenities have been provided in these residential places and security personnel have also been directed not tamper with the sanitation, structure and beauty of schools where they are taking shelter, the DGP said.

The DGP has also directed officers heading police forces to be courteous with rural people and also to respect the cultural values of Chhattisgarh. Police forces should specifically mind that while satisfying their daily needs residents of that area are not subjected to inconvenience, the DGP added.
