nChhattisgarh Power Companies’ chairman Shailendra Shukla and Power Distribution Company’s Managing Director Mohammed Qaiser Abdul Haque (IAS) led a plantation drive at its regional headquarters, Gudhiyari, Raipur on Saturday.
“Without plants one cannot dream of a joyful life. Therefore, they are vital for the life and so each individual in the society has a responsibility of planting large number of trees and take care of them,” Shukla said.
Haque said the “same interest and joy of plantation” should continue in nurturing trees by watering and taking care of them. The care should be taken till the sapling grows into a big tree.
Large number of Power Company officers took part in the drive and planted trees such as gulmohar, neem, karanj, kachnar, peepal, banyan and fruit bearing trees like mango, jamun, guava, including medicinal plants like amla, harra, mahuwa etc.
