A complaint regarding swallowing of Rs 1 crore by a Janpad chief executive officer in the works executed under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act in Bastar was lodged with the state administration and the state administration asked the district administration to institute a probe in the same.
The district administration allegedly assigned the probe to a class III official who is reportedly a contractual employee of the State Government. According to official information, some time back a complaint was sent to the State Government regarding misappropriation of around Rs1 crore by Bakawand Janpad Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Chandel in the works of MNREGA.
The Government in turn referred the matter to the district administration which allegedly assigned the probe responsibility to an official working as contractual clerk under the district administration. Meanwhile, president of Bhumkal Shanti Sena Yagyadutt Kashyap accused the administration of trying to hush up the case by appointing a contractual clerk to probe the scam committed by his senior official. He demanded a high level probe in to the charges against the CEO.
