For showing dereliction of duty, Bastar Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav dismissed three assistant cops from their services. Elsewhere in Bijapur, disturbed over some issue, an assistant constable shot himself dead Sunday morning.
SP Ajay Yadav on Sunday said, assistant constables Bhupendra Mandawi of Tetarkhuti Thana, Sona Bhagat of Nagarnar thana and Ravi Kumar Dhruv were absent from their duty without taking any leave. They were told to return to their duty immediately and explain the reason for their absence. Despite having been served notice, the three negligent cops did not report to their duty. Taking their unauthorised long leave seriously, the district police superintendent finally dismissed the trio from their duty.
Meanwhile, an assistant constable, Pitruram Yadav who was posted in Kutru thana of Bijapur district committed suicide by shooting self with his service revolver Sunday morning. According to his fellow cops the constable was uneasy for the last few days. The reason behind the cop taking extreme step is not yet known. Assistant SP Bijapur confirmed the incident.
