Amid chaos due to shortage of the anti-viral drug, Remdesivir, a latest consignment of 15,000 vials of the injections reached Raipur on Friday morning.
Remdesivir is said to be a key drug to combat complicated cases of COVID. Shortage of Remdesivir has been reported in different parts of Chhattisgarh.
Terming it a big relief to patients the Health Minister T.S. Singh Deo in a tweet informed that the distribution of the injection would get started from Saturday morning after its counting and storage at Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation (CGMSC) godown.
Notable, after an important decision the government had decided that Remdesivir injection would be made available directly to hospitals and not to medical shops. This was decided after getting to know that pharmaceutical distributers were making it available at higher prices as there was shortage of it.
Some cases of black marketing have been reported, in which the Raipur police had arrested two persons in a similar case a few days ago.
