Oil and Gas Conservation Fortnight was inaugurated here on Thursday by Food and Civil Supplies Minister Punnulal Mohle.
During the function, Mohle said petroleum products and natural gas are most valuable resources in the world. living in times of price rise and inflation, we all must use these reserves with great caution as every drop is precious and has take hundreds of years to form. “It is necessary that urban as well as rural population is sensitised towards this issue as natural gas and petrol are limited resources and will soon exhaust if we do not change our attitude,” he said. The event that began on Thursday will conclude on January 31.
Mohle said natural gas and petroleum products will not last forever and thus it is important that we use them only when needed. This approach will not only save one’s time but it will also conserve the environment, he said. Emphasizing on children’s role to protect environment and petroleum products, Mohle said it is important to teach children about the importance of petroleum products and natural gas from a young age which will instil a sense of responsibility in them, he said. It is the duty of every common man and the society need to bring awareness among people on conservation these valuable natural resources.
School students, teachers, head of Hindustan Petroleum Company and several government attended the function.
