he Congress will hold protests across Chhattisgarh on September 5 against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over its leader D. Purandeswari's remark that the cabinet will be washed away if all BJP cadres "turn and spit only once".
BJP effigies will be burnt at all district headquarters and urban areas, Pradesh Congress Committee President Mohan Markan said in a statement issued to media on Saturday.
Purandeswari made the comment at the concluding session of the three-day ‘Chintan Shivir’ of the Chhattisgarh BJP at Jagdalpur on Thursday.
The comment "reflects the mental status, indecency and arrogance" of the BJP, Markan said.
