'Congress State Secy reveals Jeeram Ghati massacre was contract killing'

Published on:

Bharatiya Janata Party State Secretary and Spokesperson Sanjay Srivastava on Tuesday said that it is evident from the reported revelation made by Chhattisgarh Congress State Secretary Shivnarayan Dwivedi that the contract money for the killing of Congress leaders at Jeeram Ghati in Bastar was given by their party leaders.

‘Dwivedi has also made it clear that senior Congress leader Charandas Mahant and leader of Opposition in the Chhattisagrh Assembly Ravindra Choubey were in the know of the massacre plans by the Maoists’, he said in a news conference here.

Srivastava said that it is quite apparent from the revelations made by Dwivedi that both Mahant and Choubey were conspirators in the massacre of Congress leaders.

‘If this was not so, why the two leaders had distanced themselves from the Congress convoy attacked by Maoists at Jeeram Ghati ,’ he said.Srivastava said that the Maoist attack on the Congress convoy in Jeeram Ghati was the outcome of a political conspiracy  which was extremely unfortunate. He said that a few days back the Congress party made Maoist Commander Ramanna issue a statement that there was no political hand in the Jeeram Ghati massacre.

‘It is evident that the Maoist commander gave a clean chit on the incident to the Congress leaders. It was the Congress attempt to propagate through Maoists to save itself from electoral damage that there was no political conspiracy behind the Jeeram Ghati attack by Maoists,’ Srivastava said.

He said that it is Dwivedi now who has unearthed the mystery as to how ‘invisible hands’ of Congress leaders are tainted with blood of Congress leaders. It had been the habit of Congress party to create incidents and then play politics on the corpses of the martyrs, Srivastava said.

Everybody knows what the Chhattisgarh Congress President Charandas Mahant said to Kawasi lakma who was the lone survivor of the Jeeram Ghati incident in the hospital. The report of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is awaited and the BJP also wants the report to be made public soon, he said.
