Former Bastar MP Dinesh Kashyap and former minister Kedar Kashyap on Saturday claimed that the Congress leaders had violated the historical Dussehra tradition of Bastar, which had been followed for over six centuries.
The two BJP leaders in a joint statement claimed that the ruling Congress was playing with the faith of people of Bastar.
They said symbols of faith and traditions should not be politicized, adding people of Bastar would never forgive such acts.
As the ‘Bastar Dussehra Festival’ already started with ‘Hareli’, this year, the event had to be conducted twice
Talking to media they said the Congress leadership should seek apology for breaking the traditions.
They said at a time when Chief Minister was stressing on celebration of traditional festivals, his own party leaders including minister violated the age-old traditions.
They were pointing the accusing fingers at Congress’s district in-charge minister, a local MP and MLA, without naming them.
They alleged that the six-month-old Congress government was not working for the benefits of the people but for the ruling party men.
They said Congress leaders themselves were of the view that they would not be able to form the government after 5 years unlike the BJP which ruled the state for three consecutive terms.
