The Congress on Wednesday held a bicycle rally from the Vidhan Sabha Chowk here to protest against the rise in prices of fuel and other essential commodities as part of a nationwide campaign against the Modi government.
PCC chief Mohan Markam led the rally while Raipur West legislator Vikas Upadhyay, Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar and RMC Chairman Pramod Dubey were among those who took part.
Addressing the gathering, Markam said the fuel prices had shot past the Rs 100 mark and hit hard people from all sections.
This will have a cascading effect on the economy. It is to condemn this that the Congress activists took out the rally, he said.
