The Congress government is not doing any obligation on the farmers by procuring paddy at a rate more than the minimum support price, Chhattisgarh BJP President Vishnudeo Sai said on Thursday.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is rubbishing the claim of receipt of funds from the Centre but the concerned department accepts that the money has been received, Sai said in a statement.
Making a sarcastic comment, Sai said it is not the Congress which is running the government but officials.
He pointed that it is Congress leaders who said that procurement of paddy will be done at `2,500 per quintal. Based on that promise, electors gave them a massive mandate. The government should fulfil the promise.
The BJP leader said the people are watching the reality of paddy procurement and the way farmers are facing problems.
