Pointing out laxity in working of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial Hospital, the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) has demanded high-level enquiry into the alleged death of four newborns in the hospital.
The CGPCC issued a statement after its Committee submitted enquiry report into the matter.
The Committee in its report found that the hospital administration did not learn any lessons from a similar incident at a hospital in Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh.
The Committee had framed a 20-point questionnaire and interrogated the Hospital Superintendent and In-charge Dean Dr Vivek Choudhary and other hospital staff , the statement informed.
The Congress enquiry team later charged that the probe set up by the State government was mere formality as the Chief Minister and the Health Minister had both denied deaths were due to lack of oxygen supply.
