The Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress party on Monday demanded CBI probe into the rape and murder of tribal girl Meena Khalkho.
State Congress Chief Bhupesh Baghel mentioned that the there had been no remarkable progress in the investigation of Meena Khalkho’s death and demanded that the police officers involved in the incident should be booked under stringent section of laws.
Meanwhile, leader of Congress legislative Party (ClP) TS Singhdeo attacking the ruling BJP government said how this government treats Tribal people is clear from Meena Khalkho incident.
“The State had received the judicial report in month of April this year but the government did not release it and tabled it on the last day of legislative Assembly’s monsoon session so that no discussion could happen over the issue,” Singhdeo said in a press statement.
Earlier, Baghel had asserted that the ‘No Confidence Motion’ against the State brought to place the information on Civil Supplies Corporation scam record in the State Assembly. The debate in the Assembly placed the details of the scam before the people of nation, he said.
