nReleasing a list of BJP leaders who sold paddy on minimum support price at the primary procurement centres and the amount paid to them, the Congress said on Friday that this proves that the opposition party says one thing but does the opposite.
Addressing the media, Urban Development Minister Dr Shiv Dahariya and School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam said there is a difference on what BJP leaders say and what they do.
Why are the BJP leaders agitating when they have received the money for their produce, the Congress leaders asked. The farmers too continue to sell their paddy. "Why are crocodile tears being shed?"
Chhattisgarh has recorded the highest procurement of paddy in kharif season 2020-21. A total of 27.90 lakh hectares of land has been registered for paddy, which is 1.04 lakh hectares higher.
The leaders said till date 19.02 lakh farmers have sold paddy. A total of 84.05 lakh tonnes have been procured. Around `15,000 crores have been released to the farmers. The procurement is continuing across the state.
The Congress has put up posters of BJP leaders in different squares of Raipur detailing who sold how much paddy for MSP and for how much money.
