Congress' anti-tribal stand exposed: Sharma

Published on:

Bharatiya Janata Party State General Secretary Shivratan Sharma on Tuesday said that the Congress party’s objection over medicated mosquito net distribution has exposed its ‘Anti tribal’ stand in Chhattisgarh.

‘On one hand the Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is shedding ‘crocodile tears’ by stating that tribals are dying of Dengue while on the other hand the Congress in Chhattisgarh is opposing distribution of mosquito nets,’ he said in a statement issued here on Tuesday. Sharma said that the Congress by opposing distribution of mosquito nets is in fact opposing a drive to safeguard Tribal health.

The Congress party does not want that the tribals to be protected from Dengue that is why they have raised the issue that the mosquito nets have the pictures of the Chief Minister and Health Minister, he said.

The Chief Minister was worried about the health of tribals and as a result, the State government had placed the order for mosquito nets in advance with a Taiwan based company, he added.
