Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Bhupesh Baghel assailed Raman Singh Government on Saturday and said Chhattisgarh’s BJP Government should make public what kind of actions it has taken against industrial houses which acquired lands for industries five years back but failed to set up plants.
Addressing a press conference at party State headquarters, Congress Bhawan, Baghel stated, “In past ten year more than 1.30 lakh people have been displaced by land acquired by BJP Government for industries and they (farmers) are still waiting for proper rehabilitation,”.
“Making amendment in the land acquisition bill introduced by Congress-led Government in 2013 at the Centre, the union Government has replaced ‘company’ word with ‘private entity’ thereby making NGOs, partnership firms, non-profitable organisation eligible for taking land under the act,” stated former minister and Congress leader Mohammed Akbar who also attended the press conference along with Baghel.
Speaking about upcoming power projects in Janjgir-Champa district, Baghel said Janjgir is one of the largest irrigated districts in Chhattisgarh and State Government has allowed industries to take away prime farm lands in a bulk in the district.
