Demanding CBI probe into Naxal attack on Congress’s Parivartan Yatra in May 2013 which had wiped out almost entire top State leaders of the party including PCC chief Nandkumar Patel, Chhattisgarh’s leader of Opposition T S Singhdeo said on Thursday that Chief Minister Raman Singh must acquire sensible approach towards the tragic incident which shocked the entire nation and take necessary steps for a CBI probe into the case.

Interacting with media, Singhdeo said Chief Minister Raman Singh usually forget to keep his promises and to remind the assurance he gave to a delegation comprised of Congress workers and family members of the people killed in the Maoists attack, a letter seeking CBI probe into the attack has been written to him.

Singhdeo further added that while interacting with the delegation, Chief Minister had promised to arrange a meeting for the delegation with Union Home Minister and personally recommend him for a CBI probe.

Questioning the stand of government and investigating agency into the case, Singhdeo said Union Home Minister had told the Parliament that change in route of Congress’s Parivartan Yatra resulted in the incident while according to state government, it was `a target-based attack’.

Besides, NIA investigating the case did not present any such facts relevant to the claims made by the government at the Centre as well as of the state,’’ claimed Singhdeo and demanded a CBI probe into the case.

Taking jibe at BJP’s zero tolerance stand against the corruption, the Congress leader said Chief Minister hardly bother to take action in serious cases, including Indira Priyadarshani Bank scam, infamous women sterilization case and multi-million scam reported in State Civil Supply Corporation.
