Cong should apologise in Jogi caste case: Kaushik

Leader of the opposition in Chhattisgarh state assembly Dharamlal Kaushik said Congress should apologise from people of the state for handing over leadership of the state to former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi as a tribal leader by Congress central and state leadership after formation of the state.

Kaushik was commenting on the report that the High Power Committee constituted to probe caste of Ajit Jogi has cancelled all his caste certificates.

Kaushik said BJP’s stand has been same as earlier.  The party has been all along suspicious about the caste of Jogi, he said adding that it was the erstwhile BJP government which had initiated probe into the issue, but the matter is pending before the courts.

Pulling up Congress for terming Jogi and his party as B-team of BJP, Kaushik said it was during BJP government on February 21, 2018 the High Power Committee was constituted. The real culprit is Congress leadership. The whole party was showcasing Jogi as a tribal leader in the state.

Even several Congress leaders in present government were ministers and held various posts under him. So, Congress should tender the apology, Kaushik said.
