The Congress has sought action against chit fund companies that are operating in the State without the mandatory sanction from the Reserve Bank of India. The Congress claimed that many private chit fund companies have been exploiting the general public mainly the middle class and unorganised sector workers by offering schemes of high return without any risk.
“As per their modus operandi of the chit fund companies, they are offering schemes to people how to become rich in just a few weeks or a month by making systematic investment,’’ the Congress said in a complaint lodged with the Raipur SP and sought urgent action against such companies. The Congress said that none of these chit fund companies, has mandatory approval from the RBI for running such investment schemes.
