Cong puts off planned state-wide protest today

The statewide demonstration of state Congress on Monday, against the alleged anti-Chhattisgarh decisions of union government including curtailing of kerosene quota for state and rice quota for ‘Dal-Bhat’ centre and hostels across the state, has been deferred.

Official source in Congress informed that the scheduled weeklong programme had been suspended in wake of demise of the Chief Minister’s mother, Bindeshwari Baghel.

The agitation programme was to be held at each and every district headquarters. The next date for the agitation would be declared soon.

Apart from the demo, ministers in the state cabinet also cancelled their pre-scheduled programme of Monday including the public dedication programme of HIV Viral Load Testing Centre (VLTC) by health department at Medical College in state capital.
