The workers of Raipur City Congress Committee on Wednesday registered their protest against dilapidated condition of main roads in western part of the city.
The protestors led by the party’s city wing president, Vikas Upadhyay, staged a demonstration by sitting on a pit, filled with rainwater, on Rohinipuram Goal Chowk main road. The protestors were holding placards and were shouting slogans against the State Government.“Big potholes on the road, which connects Ring Road to NIT main road, are easily visible. The potholes are filled with rainwater and posing danger to the commuters’ life,” said Upadhyay.
The protestors warned of sitting on an indefinite ‘dharana’ at Goal Chowk, if the authorities concerned failed to carry out work to repair dilapidated roads of the area within next 48 hours.
