BJP State Secretary and spokesperson Sanjay Srivastava on Monday said that the Congress is struggling for its existence after the crushing defeat in Assembly and lok Sabha elections and the proposed ‘gherao’ of Chief Minister’s residence is nothing but an attempt to save its existence.
"The protest is also an attempt by Congress State president Bhupesh Baghel to save his position after questions rose on his leadership by his own party leaders," said Srivastava in a statement issued here.
He said that tension is brewing up upon Baghel following the issue of change of leadership raised by former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Ajit Jogi.
"Baghel is trying to show his activeness and therefore levelling baseless allegations on the State Government," said Srivastava. He said that Chief Minister Raman Singh is providing rice at the rate of Rs 1 per kg and offering bonus on paddy to the farmers. The Government is also trying to increase the support price for paddy. But Congress is planning a demonstration on these issues.
He said that the people are very well aware of the real character of Congress party as they have witnessed its misleading demonstrations and observed its character during the past 50 years. It was due to failure of Congress Government that the country is facing the present situation.
"Congress has lost people's faith in the State as well in the country due to its deeds and facing the consequences," said Srivastava.
"Baghel should not attempt to defame BJP Government as people are aware of the facts. Instead of false allegations on BJP government, Baghel should try to improve his relations with senior leaders Ajit Jogi, Motilal Vora and Charan Das Mahant and to save his position," advised Srivastava.
