Cong govt adopting double standards on tribal stir: BJP

State BJP President Vikram Usendi accused the Bhupesh Baghel-led Congress government in the state of adopting double standard over agitation of tribals in Bailadila hillock.

In a statement, Usendi alleged that the Congress government was misleading the tribals.

He said the BJP stood beside the tribals who are fighting for their rights over the Jal-Jangal-Jameen.

Usendi demanded of the government to take immediate step to pacify the agitated tribals by communicating with them. The step is urgently needed as some miscreants are fanning ire among tribals for their vested interest, he said.

An amicable solution to the problem must be found and the state government should break its silence into the matter, Usendi further added.

Usendi said, “If the Congress government in the state was not in favour of mining in the hillock then why it has not opposed the environment clearance being given by the Centre in April 2019”.

“On one hand the government is facilitating the project and on the other it is fanning the opposition to the project. This indicates the dual character of the Congress government, which is condemnable, he added.
