Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and chairman of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Bhupesh Baghel on Monday flayed the BJP’s poll manifesto, the ‘Sankalp Patra’ asking the party to first give a status report of its poll promises of 2014.
In a statement, Baghel alleged that the “extravagant” foreign tours of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, travelling almost half of the globe, did not bring a single investor to the country.
Baghel further reminded the BJP about its previous promise of providing two crore employment each year. He claimed all the major poll promises made by the BJP ahead of the 2014 general elections turned out to be a hollow.
He said youth of the country would teach the BJP a lesson for not fulfilling its promise of generating employment.
The CGPCC general secretary Shailesh Nitin Trivedi in a statement said instead of releasing the ‘Sankalp Patra,’ the BJP should apologise to the people for failing to fulfill earlier promises.
He further claimed that the Congress prepared its manifesto by taking suggestions from various quarters while the “Sankalp Patra” of the BJP was “Man Ki Baat’ of a single person.
“Now it’s time that people of the country express their ‘Man Ki Baat’ and teach BJP a lesson”, he further added.
