All India Congress Committee (AICC) after recommendation of Central Election Committee declared the names of six candidates to be fielded in insurgency-infested Rajnandgaon district for the first phase of polls scheduled on November 12 in Chhattisgarh.
The party has decided to field former Member of Parliament and niece of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Karuna Shukla against Chief Minister Raman Singh from Rajnandgaon assembly constituency.
The other candidates are-- Girwar Janghel from Khairagarh, Bhuneshwar Singh Baghel from Scheduled Caste reserve seat Dongargarh, Daleshwar Sahu from Dongargaon, Channi Sahu from Khujji and Indra Shah Mandavi from Scheduled Tribe reserve assembly seat Mohla-Manpur.
