Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CGPCC) president Bhupesh Baghel on Tuesday alleged that the proposed amendment in the Chhattisgarh Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill 2007 through the notification published recently is not only against the rights of project- affected people of the State but also a violation of the Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill 2007.

Demanding withdrawal of the proposed Chhattisgarh Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill 2017, Baghel said that the State government must issue white paper regarding employment provided to the people whose piece of land were acquired for establishing industrial units after formation of Chhattisgarh State.

He said that the Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill 2007 has a provision to provide employment and compensation to the affected families. But, the proposed Chhattisgarh Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill 2017 has altered the old bill provisions due to which the affected have been deprived from the benefits of old bill.

The Chhattisgarh Rehabilitation & Resettlement Bill 2017 has annihilated several facilities of old bills like income through other sources (dairy, tractor, provision store, job etc), he further said.
